The Matrix actor is keen on joining Broadway with Waiting for Godot which will release in 2025.&nbsp;

In the play, Keanu Reeves will essay the role of Estragon. Actor Alex Winter will play Vladimir in the revival of Samuel Beckett’s play.&nbsp;

Keanu and Alex come a long way. They became friends while filming for Bill &amp; Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Since then, Alex Winter has been busy with the production of Adulthood, which he has directed and starred in with Josh Gad and Kaya Scodelario. He has also directed the documentaries The YouTube Effect, Zappa, Showbiz Kids and The Panama Papers.&nbsp;

Keanu Reeves is best known for the John Wick series, the Matrix films, and&nbsp;films like Dangerous Liaisons, Something’s Gotta Give, Parenthood and more.&nbsp;

As for the Broadway play, we don’t know where this will play exactly but we do know it will play at least at one of Ambassador Theatre Group’s now seven theaters.

Waiting for Godot is a philosophical play that sees Estragon and Vladimir engage in discussions and encounter other travellers, while waiting for a character named Godot. This is not the first time it will appear on Broadway. This has been there four times before the Keanu Reeves version. The most recent production before this is a 2013-14 production starring Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart.

On their collaboration, Reeves and Winter said, “We’re incredibly excited to be on stage together and work with the great Jamie Lloyd in one of our favourite plays.”

Waiting for Godot is produced by The Jamie Lloyd Company, ATG Productions, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Live and Gavin Kalin Productions.&nbsp;
