The interim president of Bolivia, Jeanine Anez, announced on Thursday her withdrawal from the presidential race a month before the elections, fearing she would split the vote against leftist Luis Arce, protege of former leader Evo Morales.

Bolivia's interim president Jeanine Anez said on Sunday that "transparent elections" will be held soon as violent demonstration post-Morales seem to slow. "Very soon we will announce news regarding our main mandate: calling transparent elections," Jeanine Anez said while adding that it would help to "recovery of our country's democratic credibility.
