<p>Kamal Haasan's highly-anticipated movie of the year <em>Indian 2 </em>is in the theatres. Directed by S&nbsp;Shankar and co-written by B&nbsp;Jeyamohan, the movie is a sequel to the 1996 hit film that starred Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After a wait of 28 years, Haasan is back as Veerasekaran Senapathy, a freedom fighter turned vigilant. Titled <em>Indian 2: Zero Toleranc</em>e, the movie was released in the theatres on July 12 and has so far received&nbsp;disappointing reviews from fans and critics alike.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>Indian 2</em> takes place in the present day in India where&nbsp;corruption is at an all-time high. In the social media age, three friends run a YouTube channel through which they call out the wrongful activities going on in the nation. After realising that they failed to make an impact, they started a campaign called 'Come Back Indian.'</p>

<p>After a major online campaign, Indian thatha (grandfather) makes a comeback and like the previous film, he starts punishing the corrupt people around the country.</p>

<p>Kamal as Senapathy aka Indian and Hindustani has earned rave reviews for his performance in the movie. However, the movie's storyline has failed to impress the audience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh gave a disappointing review of the movie. Calling the movie outdated, Adarsh wrote, ''Interesting ideas don’t always make for interesting films... Archaic writing is the biggest culprit here... Director #Shankar misses a golden opportunity... Even #KamalHaasan's wonderful act cannot salvage it. #Hindustani2Review #Indian2.''</p>

<p>Apart from Haasan, the movie stars Siddharth, the late Malayalam veteran Nedumudi Venu, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Guru Somasundaram and others.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The movie is backed by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music. &nbsp;</p>
