<p>The latest warning was in response to some owners of already verified accounts renaming themselves as Elon Musk in a bid to point out that the $8 plan would allow anyone to impersonate anyone else and can potentially spread disinformation.</p>

<p>Comedians Kathy Griffin and Sarah Silverman, and Australian satirical website the Chaser&nbsp;are among the accounts already known to be locked or suspended as a result, according to reports.</p>

<p>"Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying 'parody' will be permanently suspended," Musk tweeted Sunday evening.</p>
