While there are many golf courses in Kashmir, the region has not produced elite-level players. Perhaps because there were no golf academies to train aspiring golfers - until now. The J&K administration has come forward to fill the void and a golf academy was inaugurated by the lieutenant governor of jammu& Kashmir - Manoj Sinha. Students of government schools are now encouraged to pursue the sport.
