Actress Eva Longoria is very much done with the United States. After living most part of her life in America, the actress has revealed that she, along with her husband and their&nbsp;son, has moved out of the United States.&nbsp;

The Desperate Housewives actress has found her new home in Spain and Mexico.&nbsp;

Speaking on Marie Claire's Age Issue, Longoria said that despite spending her “whole adult life” in LA, the actress said that something changed in the city and country.&nbsp;

“The vibe was different,” she explains, “and then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s--t on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

“I’m privileged,” she adds later. “I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”

Longoria, a vocal supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris, also talked about Donald Trump's victory in the US elections in 2024.

Recalling the first time when Trump won in 2016, the actress recalled, “I’ve never been depressed in my life.”

“It was like, ‘Does my vote really matter? Am I really making a difference?’” she said. “I was so untethered to the core of what I believe because I truly believed in my soul that the best person wins. And then that happened, and I was like, ‘Oh, wait. The best person doesn’t win.’”

However, talking about his second win, she said, “The shocking part is not that he won. It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.”&nbsp;

She adds, “I would like to think our fight continues.''

Expressing her fears about Trump's coming four-year tenure, the actress said that the country “is a scary place,” she continues. “If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”

Eva Longoria is not holding back. The actress screened her directorial debut at Cannes Film Festival 2023 recently and spoke candidly that how opportunities are less in Hollywood for female directors,&nbsp;especially the non-white ones.

"I felt the weight of my community, I felt the weight of every female director because we don’t get a lot of bites at the apple," Longoria said at Cannes of her feature directorial debut Flamin’ Hot during the Kering Women in Motion talk.&nbsp;

Longoria, who has directed episodes of Black-ish and Jane the Virgin,&nbsp;said she realised the last Latina-directed studio film was 20 years ago.&nbsp;

"We can’t get a movie every 20 years," she said. "So the problem is, if this movie fails people go, ‘Oh, Latino stories don’t work.’ ‘Oh, female directors really don’t cut it.’" 
 
"We don’t get a lot of at-bats. A White male can direct a $200 million film, fail and get another one. Right?," said the actress.

She said she felt like going into filming Flamin’ Hot: "We get one at-bat. We get one chance. I gotta make it right, I gotta do it well, I gotta work twice as hard, I gotta out hustle everybody in the room, I gotta work twice as fast, I gotta do it twice as cheap … You really carry the generational traumas with you into the making of the film."&nbsp; 
 
Longoria stated that the pressures helped her to work. "I was just like determined and excited for the journey and we have a beautiful film," she said.&nbsp;

Flamin' Hot, which is based on a 2013 memoir and narrates the "inspiring story of Richard Montañez, a Frito Lay janitor who helped disrupt the food industry," according to Disney+.

The film stars Jesse Garcia, Tony Shalhoub, Dennis Haysbert, Emilio Rivera and Annie Gonzalez.&nbsp;
