Although Travis Head hogged all the limelight with his best score (154*) in a One-Day run chase, Labuschagne entered history books with his unique and unbelievable record, the first for any player ever.

The right-handed batter, who also bowls part-time leg-spin, picked three wickets during the first innings, in addition to grabbing four catches, thus becoming the first cricketer ever to score 50 plus runs, pick up three wickets and take four catches in one game.

Australia looked comfortable in the run chase despite losing Captain Mitchell Marsh early inside the Powerplay. Although Steve Smith and all-rounder Cameron Green contributed 32 each, Travis Head’s incredible 154* added alongside Labuschagne’s 77, saw the visiting team win the first match by seven wickets.

The pair added 148 runs for the fourth wicket, with Marnus playing second fiddle to in-form Head.&nbsp;

Captain Marsh also spoke about Marnus’ spell, for which he took the credit.&nbsp;

"I'd love to take credit for it [Marnus bowling]. Was a forced changed, the longer their innings went on we felt pace off was the better option. I thought the way we bowled, especially our part-timers, was fantastic,” he said.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Leeds will host the second ODI between England and Australia on Saturday (Sep 21).&nbsp;

By the close in the Royal London One-Day Cup game between Notts and Northamptonshire, statisticians were checking to see if there had ever been a day like it anywhere in the world. 
 
The big hitting began from the start with Nottinghamshire&#39;s Riki Wessels and Michael Lumb sharing a record one-day partnership in England of 342 from 39.2 overs. 
 
Wessels eventually departed for a career-best 146, from 97 balls, while Lumb went on to make 184, also his best and a record for the county, as Nottinghamshire posted 445 for 8, the second highest score for a List A match in the world. 
 
The runs continued to flow when Northamptonshire chased down what would have been another record for a team batting second. But they fell short despite 128 from Rory Kleinveldt. 
 
Their total of 425 gave Nottinghamshire victory by 20 runs in a game which saw an unprecedented 870 runs scored in the day, three more than Surrey and Glamorgan managed in 2002. 
 
Afterwards Lumb joked: &quot;It was a bit twitchy. What a great game of cricket. Never in doubt.&quot;
