Japan said on Friday it will end imports of Russian coal and announced the expulsion of eight of Moscow's diplomats over "war crimes" in Ukraine. The move comes as Ukraine's allies step up pressure on Moscow after allegations that Russian troops killed civilians in areas around Kyiv.

India's coal import increased by 14.5 per cent to 24.01 million tonnes (MT) in May this year. The country's coal import was at 20.96 MT in May 2019, according to a junction services report, which is based on monitoring of vessels' positions and data received from shipping companies.
