All the non-swadeshi products have been removed from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) canteens, according to the orders by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). MHA had declared on May 13 that all the CAPF canteens will stop serving product that are imported from abroad, or are purely made from products which are imported, and will only sell indigenous or "swadeshi" products from June 1.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 12 addressed the nation and highlighted the importance of local products and local manufacturing for a self-reliant India, Home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday appealed people to use products made in India and ordered all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) canteens to sell only indigenous products.
