People were quick to point out that Sikkim is actually very peaceful

Priyanka Chopra faced a backlash after she said Sikkim is "troubled by insurgency". Priyanka was talking to ET Canada about her new film Pahuna: The Little Visitors, which she said is the first movie to come out of the region. People were quick to point out that Sikkim is actually not troubled by insurgency -- it has no insurgent groups -- and that there have been a number of films from the region. Priyanka is in Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival. Her exact words were: "This is a Sikkimese film. It is a small state in the North East of India, who never had a film industry or anyone who made films from there. And this is the first film ever that's come out of that region because it's very troubled with insurgency." Watch what Priyanka said below: The Twitterati of course quickly pointed out that Sikkim remains "one of the most peaceful states" in the country. And very helpfully listed some of the films that have come out of the region.
