A police complaint has been registered against Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty for allegedly using a derogatory word in a TV show.

While promoting his recently released film &#39;Tiger Zinda Hai&#39;, Salman reportedly used the word &#39;bhangi&#39; to describe his dancing style.&nbsp;

Shilpa, on the other hand, used the word to describe her choice of clothing at home.

The alleged comments were met with the ire of the Valmiki community, a &nbsp;Dalit section, who lodged a police complaint against the two Bollywood stars.&nbsp;

The community members also protested against the release of Salman&#39;s latest flick &quot;Tiger Zinda Hai&quot;.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has also sought a reply from the Information and Broadcasting (I&amp;B) Ministry and the police commissioners of Delhi and Mumbai over the action taken against the actors as per the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act, 2015.&nbsp;

The commission had issued the notice after it received a complaint from a former chairman of the Delhi Commission for Safai Karamcharis.
