Mithya returned with a fresh new season on November 1. The new season is called Mithya The Darker Chapter as it takes forward the story of betrayal, revenge amid the backdrop of a thriller. With Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani locking horns yet again, the new season has a lot on offer for fans of the show.&nbsp;

Avantika Dassani talked about her experience working on the show, the progression her character Rhea goes through and more. Here are the excerpts:&nbsp;

Q: How do you think your character has evolved in the new season?

A: The transition from season 1 to 2 for Rhea has been a big leap and a rather challenging one. In season one you saw her as this troubled teenager looking for acceptance and love, a misguided way of getting attention and someone who wanted to ruffle some feathers. Now she has constantly faced betrayal by those who are supposed to be family, never received affection and love and even been sent to jail by those same people.&nbsp;

She comes out from her jail sentence with a lot more power, internal and external (as the new owner of the Rajguru estate) determined and stronger than ever to take vengeance, to get all that she wanted by hook or by crook.

Q: Is there any part of Rhea’s journey that resonates with you?&nbsp;

A: I think in terms of personality, Rhea and I are both strong-headed, emotionally driven and guarded. And as most humans, we share the need to be understood and loved.&nbsp;

How these traits manifest in Rhea is different from mine, but these are the central ways I could relate to her while building her character up and understand that these are the chief motives behind everything she does.&nbsp;

Q: Mithya The Darker Chapter has a different director than the first season. How easy or difficult was it to build that level of comfort and rapport with a new director?

A: Honestly, there have been a lot of changes and a lot of back and forth with this season, so I don’t know if anyone else would have been able to do what Kapil sir has done. He was the most calming force in all the craziness.

He was so lovely to work with because he was always ready to work with all different ideologies, questions, and thoughts while bringing an unmatched energy that was in equal parts enthusiastic and calm no matter how hectic things got. A true captain of the ship, it’s fitting that his pet name is Kaps.
