According to media reports, the Assam minister Das was detained while he was busy in poll-related activities at Gandacherra area under 44 Raima Valley Assembly Constituency in Dhalai district of Tripura.

According to the Election Commision, no member of any political party can stay after 4 pm of the penultimate day in the state going for polls.

The detention of a minister from Assam has created reactions across the State.

The CPM has written to the Chief Election Commissioner seeking &quot;stringent action&quot; against Das. It had earlier complained to the commission about the presence of &quot;outsiders&quot; in the poll-bound state.
