<p>The aircraft carrying 231 passengers and 18 crew members was on its way from Ahmedabad to London. It took off from Ahmedabad at 0700 hours landed safely at London&#39;s Heathrow Airport at 11.05 hours, a spokesperson for Air India said.</p>

<p>Media reports quoted an Air India official as saying that the plane lost contact for somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour. The pilots will reportedly be grounded till the matter is investigated.</p>

<p>On February 16, a Jet Airways plane had to be escorted by German Air Force fighter planes after it briefly lost contact with ATC in German air space.</p>

<p>The Boeing 777 aircraft was on its way from Mumbai to London when the incident occured.</p>

<p>After its interception by the fighter planes, contact was reestablished via the emergency frequency.</p>
