Germany celebrated on Saturday the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall that divided East and West Germany, with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier thanking Eastern European neighbours for spurring on the peaceful revolution.

Monday April 15 marks the 30th anniversary of the 1989 Hillsborough soccer stadium crush that killed 96 Liverpool supporters. The victims died in an overcrowded, fenced-in enclosure, at the Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield, northern England - the home of the Sheffield Wednesday club - during an FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
