'I don't care if I'm not the biggest goalkeeper,' says Pickford after stopping Colombia

England kept their calm throughout the 120 minutes and then put it across Colombia in the shootouts led by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford
As England beat Colombia to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup, Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford said he had "power and agility" and had done his research on the Colombian team to help his team advance into the last 8 at the Spartak Stadium.
"I did a lot of research on them, I've got power and agility," Pickford told a TV channel.
England overturned their dismal record in World Cupshootouts losing in 1990, 1998 and 2006, but on Tuesday night it was a different England under their star coach Gareth Southgate, 47, and ably led by captain Harry Kane.
"I don't care if I'm not the biggest 'keeper because it's about being there in the moment and making the save and I was," the ecstatic goalkeeper said.
Kane, Rashford, Trippier, Dier scored even as Henderson's effort was saved by Colombian keeper David Ospina. Earlier Harry Kane smashed in a 57th-minute penalty but Yerry Mina's equaliser in stoppage time led to a penalty shootout which was ultimately won by Kane's men.
"We are getting smarter, and maybe played by the same rules as the rest of the world," Southgate said.
"But we kept our dignity and our sportsmanship and if we were down it was because we were fouled. I am proud of the discipline," he said.
England will now meet Sweden in the quater-finals who beat Switzerland by a solitary goal in a lacklustre match.
