Will get opportunities, just need to grab them: U-19 captain Prithvi Shaw tells WION

World U-19 champions received a warm welcome at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai by some senior officials of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Besides MCA officials, a significant number of fans were also assembled at the airport to welcome the young heroes.

Shaw & Co.have retired from Under-19 cricket in the best way possible.

Prithvi Shaw, the U-19 skipper shared his experiences exclusively with WION.

"Really feeling proud in getting back the World Cup trophy home. The journey has been very interesting."

"Lots of memories have been created in Mumbai, Thank you to Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for taking care of me like a child."

On being asked about joining the senior cricket team he said, "Not really thinking about it, its a long way from here but I have to achieve some goals, I am a person who believes in the present. I will get opportunities I just need to grab it."

"The best memories will always be lifting the cup for the country, It is never easy, one has to face lots of challenges before that."

He specifically mentioned Rahul Dravid and support staff and said, "Lot of efforts have been put in by the support staff. Rahul sir shared his experiences with us as he had played in New Zealand before."

"The credit goes to everyone," he added.

Now, the U-19 champs are definitely looking forward to having a promising future in cricket. Few of players like, skipper Prithvi Shaw, Manjot Kalra, Shubman Gill, Ishan Porel, Kamlesh Nagarkoti will appear in the upcoming IPL series.

They have booked a berth in the upcoming IPL series as they were bought by IPL franchises.
