Defending champion Rafael Nadal blitzed a weary Kei Nishikori 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 on Tuesday to reach the Roland Garros semi-finals for the 12th time and a possible dream clash with Roger Federer.
Nadal, bidding to win a 12th French Open, took his record in Paris to 91 wins and just two defeats, a day after he celebrated his 33rd birthday.
In what will be his 31st appearance in a Slam semi-final, the world number two will face either 2009 champion Federer.

As Federer reached his first Roland-Garros semi-final since 2012 in a gritty 7-6(4), 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 victory over Stan Wawrinka.
