This is India's best-ever performance in Olympics, the Blue Army won 7 medals at the Tokyo 2020 (beating their previous best 6 - London 2012). As the Games have come to a close, check out the Top 5 countries in the medal tally and India's rank in the list: 

#5 Russian Olympics Committee

Russian Olympic Committee leaves the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a total number of 71 medals (including 20 gold, 28 silver, and 23 bronze). 

They come at the fifth spot.

#4 Great Britain

Great Britain comes in the fourth spot with 65 medals. This includes 22 gold, 21 silver, and 22 bronze.

#3 Japan

Hosts Japan comes in at the third spot. They grabbed 58 medals in the games. They won 27 gold medals, 14 silver and 17 bronze medals.

#2 China

China was leading the list until the USA overtook them. Nevertheless, they come in second with 88 medals in their pocket (including 38 gold medals, 32 silver, 18 bronze).

#1 USA

As usual, the United States of America come first in the Olympics. With a total medal of 113, they take the top spot. They won 39 gold medals, 41 silver, and 33 bronze medals.
