India sailed into the Cricket World Cup semi-finals and eliminated opponents Bangladesh in the process after Rohit Sharma's century and Jasprit Bumrah's four-wicket haul secured a 28-run victory over their neighbours on Tuesday.
Rohit smashed his fourth century of this year's tournament and featured in a massive 180-run opening partnership with KL Rahul to help India to a commanding 314-9.
Shakib Al Hasan struck a defiant 66 but the lack of partnerships hurt Bangladesh, who were all out for 286 in 48 overs with Bumrah (4-55) sealing the victory by claiming two wickets with the final two deliveries.
India are now second with 13 points, one behind leaders Australia, while Bangladesh are seventh with seven points.

Although, drama happened here as Kohli is not looking happy by the third umpire's decision.
On the second ball, Shami bowled to Soumya Sarkar and appealed for an lbw but on-field umpire rejected it.
Virat Kohli used the DRS but the third umpire did not have enough conclusive evidence to overturn the original decision.
Kohli is furious and had a chat with the umpire.
But the ball was touching the pad and the bat at the same time, so some relief to Bangladesh here at the moment.

India post 314/9 against Bangladesh.
Rohit Sharma smashed his fourth century the top order powered India to 314 for nine.
Dropped on nine by Tamim Iqbal, Rohit (104) and KL Rahul (77) forged a 180-run stand, the highest opening partnership at this year's tournament, to give India a strong foundation.
Rohit tied Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara's record of four hundreds in a single World Cup and also overtook Australian David Warner as the leading scorer at this tournament.
Rishabh Pant made 48 but the Bangladesh bowlers, led by Mustafizur Rahman (5-59), stemmed the boundary flow at the end as India fell short of the 350-mark which had looked within their reach at one stage.

KL Rahul faced the first ball, it was a dot, he took a single on the second ball.
The third ball was wide and Rohit Sharma, on strike, pulled the third ball on the deep mid-wicket for a six.

India's Virat Kohli won the toss and India opt to bat first against Bangladesh.
For India, Dinesh Karthik has replaced Kedar Jadhav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been declared fit and came in for Kuldeep Yadav.
Bangladesh also made two changes, with Rubel Hossain coming in for Mehidy Hasan while Mahmudullah failed a fitness test on his calf tear and was replaced by Sabbir Rahman.

Mashrafe's side have seven points after three wins and a washout, three points behind fourth-placed England.
"India are very strong in this World Cup and it is not going to be easy but we have to play hard and be at 100 percent in every area," said Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza.
"Are we going to still be in it? Maybe, maybe not. Let's see but we have to play better than what we have done so far."

India will take on Bangladesh in the 40th match of Cricket World Cup 2019 at Edgbaston. India are currently on 11 points from seven games and a win will ensure a smooth passage to the semi-finals.
On the other hand, Bangladesh must win their last couple of league games in order to make their maiden entry into the last four stage.
Mashrafe Mortaza's side has seven points after three wins and a washout, three points behind fourth-placed England.
To retain any chance of qualifying from the 10-team group phase they need to win both of their final fixtures, against India and Pakistan, and hope results elsewhere go in their favour.
England handed India their first defeat of the tournament at Edgbaston on Sunday, blunting their spin attack to rack up 337-7, with the home batsmen making the most of a short boundary on one side.
But Mashrafe, whose side will take on India on the same ground in Birmingham, said they had their own plans against the two-time champions.
India are currently dealing with middle-batting order woes as MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav have been criticised lately for playing slow.
Ahead of the match, Vijay Shankar was ruled out of the tournament owing to toe injury and Mayank Agarwal replaced him in the squad.
