A close first set was followed by a disappointing performance in the second set. The third set unfortunately wasn't any better for India leading to their defeat against the Netherlands in the quarter-final, ending their campaign in the women's team archery event.

The two Indian swimmers, Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu, have failed to advance past the heats in the men’s 100m backstroke and women’s 200m freestyle events, respectively.
They should have finished within the top 16 to qualify for the semis.
While Srihari finished 33rd in the overall standings with a timing of 55.01, the 14-year-old Desinghu finished 23rd in the overall standings at 02:06.96.

India won its first medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024, a bronze.
Ace shooter Manu Bhaker, 22, became the first Indian women’s shooter and fifth overall to win an Olympic medal.
During the women’s 10m air pistol final in Paris, Manu finished third with a score of 221.7 and won the bronze medal.
South Korea’s OH Ye Jin won the gold medal with an Olympic record of 243.2, while her compatriot won the silver with 241.3.

India’s shooting contingent continues to make headlines, as Ramita Jindal becomes the second shooter after Manu Bhaker to enter a gold medal match at the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
Ramita finished 5th with a score of 631.5 in the women’s 10m air rifle qualifying event, and with this win, she became the first Indian since Suma Shirur in 2004 to reach the final in this event.
Meanwhile, Elavenil Valarivan missed the top-8 finish, as she secured the 10th spot with a score of 630.7.

Ace India shuttler PV Sindhu began her quest for an eluded Olympic gold medal with a comfortable win over Maldives Fathimath Abdul Razzaq 21-9 and 21-6 in her first group game at the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
PV Sindhu will face Kristin Kuuba on July 31 at 12:50 pm IST in her next game. A win against Kristin will confirm her spot in the round of 16.

For India, the second day of the Paris Olympic Games 2024 brings the chance to bag medals in two disciplines. While Manu Bhaker will headline the women's 10m air pistol event final scheduled at 3:30 PM IST, the women's archery team will compete in the final later in the day (at 8:30 PM), which remains subject to qualification.
