Lionel Messi receives Fair Play Award

Lionel Messi, five-time Ballon d’Or winner was awarded the Barca Players Association’s Fair Play Award on Monday for the season 2015-2016 for his splendid performance during that season.

Messi was handed the award by Barca Players Association President Ramon Alfonseda at a ceremony attended by FC Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu as well.

This award is given annually to the Barca first team after observing both on and off-field conduct. More than 3,300 people voted for the award on social media. Among the six finalists, Messi was chosen for the award by a 15-person jury.

In the ongoing season with 20 goals, Messi is leading La Liga in scoring.
