After the end of the Paris Olympics 2024 edition, Paris is set to host the world's top athletes in this year'sParalympics. The opening ceremony took place on Wednesday (Aug 28) in the blaze of hope and inclusivity. Talking about the Indian contingent, the country has sent its largest-ever contingent, comprising as many as 84 athletes competing across 12 sports.
There are quite a fewnotable athletes representing India in the Paris Paralympics 2024 edition. The likes ofSumit Antil, Avani Lekhara, Manish Narwal, and Krishna Nagarwill aim to defendtheir titles and aim for gold once again.

Notably, there are no medals games for India on Day 1 of the Games. Para-archers, para-cyclists, and para-badminton players such asPalak Kohli, Thulasimathi Murugesan, and Manisha Ramdass will be in action and aim for a good start.

There are many medal-contenders for India in the Paris Paralympics.Sumit Antil (men's javelin F64), Mariyappan Thangavelu (men's high jump T42), Deepthi Jeevanji (women's 400m T20), Sachin Khilari (men's shotput F46), Ekta Bhyan (women's club throw F52) and Simran Sharma (women's 200m T12), etc. are expected to bring glory for the country in the mega event.
In the last edition, in Tokyo, India ended withan overall 19 medals,finishing at the 24th spotwith five gold, eight silver and six bronze medals.
