India have ended Day 1 of the Rajkot Test after tons from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja led the charge for the hosts. Sarfaraz Khan also scored 62 runs after a bright start to his international career.

Rohit-Jadeja continue to pile on runs and the duo have taken their chances from time to time too. Jadeja pulled one, off Mark Wood, for a six as he is now nearing a 100 whereas Rohit is also not sparing the loose ones. India 224 for 3.

Jadeja is playing the second fiddle role to perfection. He has looked good from the word go and knows the surface inside out, being the local boy. He has eased it for Rohit and the duo will look to continue to add runs and not throw their wickets given the inexperience in the lower-middle order. India 200 for 3

Rohit Sharma reaches his 11th Test hundred, 3rd versus England, soon after the tea break. This has been a brilliant innings from the Indian captain given the hosts were reeling at 33-3 at one point. Though he had a lucky escape with Root dropping him at the first slip off Hartley, Rohit looks comfortable to bail India out of trouble. 

Seamer Mark Wood provided England with early breakthroughs, removing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill on low scores. Tom Hartley then picked up Rajat Patidar's wicket in his first over.
