CWG Gold medalist weightlifter Sanjita Chanu has been tested positive for a banned substance and provisionally suspended for the same.
According to the official statement released by International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), she tested positive for testosterone.
"IWF reports that the sample of Ms. Sanjita Chamu KHUMUKCHAM (IND) has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for Testosterone (S1.1 Anabolic Agents). As a consequence, the Athlete is provisionally suspended in view of a potential anti-doping rule violation," said the official statement of International Weightlifting Federation.
Recently, Chanu won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) at Gold Coast in Australia.
24-year-old Sanjita Chanu lifted 192 kgs to clinch the gold at CWG Gold Coast.
