Barcelona, Spain
Andres Iniesta has announced on Friday that he will leave Spanish club FC Barcelona at the end of the season. From past few months, there were speculations that 33-year old might leave Barca and Spanish media reported that he will move to Chinese Super League.
Barcelona captain Iniesta has spent all of his senior career at Camp Nou and has lifted 31 trophies and it is expected that the count will increase to 32 as Barca will clinch the Liga title on Sunday at Deportivo La Coruna.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hailed 33-year old Iniesta and wished him the "best for the future" during a press conference and said that Barcelona's recent trophy-laden history wouldn't have been possible without Andres Iniesta.
"I could say three minutes about what Andres Iniesta means in the world of football, not just in Barcelona. And I think he's another part of the history that Barcelona live in the last 15 to 20 years, it would not have been possible (for them) without him," said City boss Guardiola.
Guardiola, who played alongside his Spanish compatriot and then managed Iniesta at the Camp Nou, paid tribute to his former colleague who is widely expected to move to China at the end of the season.
