The United States said it was "deeply concerned" that LeT leader Hafiz Seed had been released from house arrest in Pakistan.?
As Lashkar-e-Tayyiba(LeT) leader Hafiz Saeed walked free on Friday after being released from house arrest in Pakistan, the Trump administration said the Pakistan government "should make sure that he is arrested and charged for his crimes".
The US government had designated Saeed a "global terrorist" under an executive order in 2012. The UN had also individually designated the LeT chief a "terrorist"under UNSCR 1267 in December 2008, following the November 2008 Mumbai attack in which six American citizens were killed.
The United States said it was "deeply concerned" that LeT leader Hafiz Seed had been released from house arrest in Pakistan.
In 2012, the United States had offered $10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Hafiz Saeed.
LeT and several of its front organizations including its leaders remain under US State Department and Treasury Department sanctions.
