Pakistan army summons former ISI chief over 'Spy Chronicles' book

Days after the Pakistan army disrupted the distribution of the Dawn newspaper in parts of the country post Nawaz Sharif's interview, the armyhas now summoned a former head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on May 28.

The Pakistan army has summoned former head of ISI Lieutenant General (retired) Asad Durrani to question him for his views on the book " Spy Chronicles:RAW, ISIand all the illusion of Peace", which he has co-authored with former Indian intelligence officer AS Dulat.

In the book, the former ISI General has claimed that the then Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani was well aware of the US Navy Seals operation against Osama Bin Ladin. He also said that Pakistan and US had struck a special deal in this regard.

After the release of the book, the ex ISI official was asked to justify his position for violating the military code of conduct that restricts any serving or retired military official from making remarks against the country's national security.
