Lashkar-e-Islam commander Haji Akbar Afridi, who once gave ultimatum to Kashmiri Pandits, shot dead

In a major blow to Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Islam, Haji Akbar Afridi, the commander of the notorious outfit was reportedly shot dead by unknown armed assailants in Bara, Khyber district, sources confirmed to WION.

Thekilling is the most recent in a spate of incidents reported fromPakistan wherealleged terrorists are being targeted by gunmen.

The infamous Lashkar-e-Islam has been involved in militant activities and is known for its extremist ideology.

It has a history of issuing threats to various communities by instigating fear and has also in the past threatened Kashmiri Pandits to leave Kashmir or else face dire consequences.
