A suicide bomber has blown himself up in front of the Iraqi embassy in Kabul, AFP reported quoting a security source.
"Civilians are being evacuated" from the area as the attack is ongoing, AFP quoted the official as saying.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, the group's Amaq news agency reported.
AFP reported that at least four explosions, along with the sounds of gunfire and grenades, were heard by their reporters and residents near the city's diplomatic quarter shortly after 11 am.
Reuters reported Afghan security forces as saying the attackers appeared to have taken cover in the embassy building.
