Imran Khan, Pakistan News Live Updates: Days after Lahore Police attempted to arrest former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, prompting him to give an undertaking that he will appear before a court in-person, Khan was seen to be acting on his promise of appearing before the Lahore High Court. The court granted Imran Khan protective bail in all nine cases registered against him in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore respectively.

Imran Khan has been granted bail in all 9 cases for which he was appearing at Lahore High Court.

The court approved protective bail till 24th March in five cases filed against Khan in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The court approved protective bail till 27th March in four cases filed against him in Lahore.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is seeking protective bail in nine cases filed against him in Islamabad and Lahore.

A two-member bench, comprising of Justices Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Farooq Haider, had been scheduled to hear Khan's petition for protective bail in four of the nine cases registered under terrorism charges.

The request for bail in the remaining five cases will be heard by a single-member bench comprising Justice Sheikh.

Two of the cases concern the vandalism at Islamabad Judicial Complex while another concerns a violent reaction by Imran Khan's supporters under his alleged directions at Lahore's Zaman Park.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan left his Zaman Park residence on Friday afternoon, following which he is set to appear before Lahore High Court. In the visuals posted by Khan's PTI supporters on social media, Khan is seen surrounded by his supporters as he leaves his residence in a bulletproof vehicle.

Imran Khan is scheduled to appear before Lahore High Court on March 17. Khan will supposedly assure the judge that he will appear in-person before the Islamabad sessions court on March 18 in relation to the corruption cases towards which a number of non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued in recent weeks. 

"Imran Khan will come to LHC himself and assure the judge that he is ready to go to the Islamabad court," Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry was quoted as saying by The Dawn

A day after Pakistan's Punjab province's police attempted to arrest Imran Khan, the former prime minister alleged that the state wanted to "torture and kill him in police custody."

"We had reports that they wanted to arrest me so that they torture me first and then kill me," Khan categorically told a group of senior journalists at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
