Mumbai high tide: Girl swept away to sea from Marine Drive

A 17-year-old girl was swept away into the sea from Mumbai's Marine Drive during high tide yesterday.

The girl, Preeti Shrikrishna Pise, ANI reported, had been trying to touch the waves splashing under Marine Drive.

ANI reported that Mumbai Police had denied the reports that Pise had been trying to take aselfie when she was swept away.

It added that police had warned visitors to Marine Drive about the dangers of high tide.

But added that Mumbaikars had flocked to Marine Drive yesterday, to see waves that were as high as 4.81 mts.
