Mahira Khan reacts to the Javed Shiekh viral kiss video; calls it 'silly stuff'

Mahira Khan is in news again. This time not for smoking in public with an Indian actor but ducking from a Pakistani actor who was about to plant a kiss on her cheek.

A viral video has Mahira walking up to the stage to receive an award at the 17th Lux Style Award for her role in Pakistani film Verna from Mawra Hoccane and actor Javed Sheikh. After receiving a peck from Mawra, Mahira is seen proceeding towards Sheikh who gives her hug first and just as he is about to plant a kiss on the actress' cheek, Khan moves her face.

While many thought that actress did it as she found Sheikh's gesture inappropriate, the others have called her rude.

On Friday, Mahira took to Twitter to clarify and mentioned that she had the utmost respect for the senior actor who has done number of Indian films including Om Shanti Om.

Mahira tweeted, "I have just woken up to such silly stuff floating around. It’s good to be aware and have an opinion but for God's sake don’t use anything and everything to make news. Javed Sheikh of all people! He is a legend and a mentor to all of us in this industry. Would vouch for him always.(Sic)"

Sheikh, on his part, also reacted to the video but with a cheeky photo as he posed with Jerjees Seja (CEO of Pakistan’s largest TV network, ARY Digital Network) and Faysal Qureshi (Pakistani actor and TV host). The caption of the photo says it all.
