Pakistan on Thursday refuted US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's comments that it needed to act against terrorist organisations that find safe haven inside the country.
Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Dr Mohammad Faisal, wrote on Twitter that Pakistan had undertaken "large-scale operations against terrorists and their safe havens."
"We do not agree with the comments and perception of Secretary Tillerson. Pakistan has undertaken large-scale operations against terrorists and their safe havens across the length and breadth of the country with notable success," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on Twitter.
"These operations are being carried out in our own national interest and Pakistan is determined to rid its soil of the scourge of terrorism and extremism."
