23 people had died in the attack on the Holey Artisan bakery on July 1, 2016

The building that used to house the Holey Artisan Bakery and O' Kitchen Restaurant in Dhaka, where 23 people were killed in a terror attack on the night of July 1, 2016, will open for four hours on Saturday for relatives of the victims and the general public to pay their respects.

22 people were killed in the terror attack.

17 of the victims had been foreigners, one of whom had been a young Indian girl.

bdnews24 reported that on the first anniversary of the attack, house no. 5 on road no. 79 at Gulshan-2 will be open from 10 amto 2 pm.

The owners of the two-storey building, Samira Ahmmed and her husband Sadat Mehedi, are renovating it and plan on moving into it.

The couple took charge of the building in November last year following a court order.

"We will manage to keep the compound open for four hours for the people to pay tribute to the victims. We`ve also sought law enforcers` help," Mehedi said.

The original eatery reopened this January at Rangs Arcade on Gulshan Avenue.
