At least five people have been killed and over 42 injured after a car bomb detonated near police headquarters in Afghanistan's Helmand province

Two women and two soldiers including a child have been confirmed dead, Reuters reported.

"A suicide bomber detonated an explosive-filled car in a parking lot near the main police headquarters in Lashkar Gah," Omar Zhwak, a spokesman for the governor of Helmand province, told AFP.
