Bumper pulses harvest in India, Myanmar farmers unhappy

A bumper harvest of pulses in India has significantly reduced the imports from neigbouring Myanmar, according to a media report.

India had announced a 200,000-ton import quota on pigeon peas and 300,000-ton quota on mung bean and green grams, according to a report in Xinhua news agency.

Myanmar has blamed India for throwing its domesticpulses industry in disarray, an official report said.
