'Baseless Indian propaganda on Gilgit-Baltistan,' says Pakistan

Pakistan today said the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir(J&K) is a "disputed" territory and rejected Indian protest against Gilgit-Baltistan Order 2018.
"Everything from history to law to morality to the situation on the ground belies India's spurious claim," Pakistan said.
India had summoned Pakistan's deputy high commissioner Syed Haider Shah on Sunday and had declared that any attempt to alter the status of any part of the territory of Gilgit-Baltistan order has no legal basis.
India's external affairs ministry said the "entire state of Jammu and Kashmir, which also includes the so-called 'Gilgit-Baltistan' areas, is an integral part of India by virtue of its accession in 1947."
Pakistan, however, called it "propaganda" while rejecting India's claim.
"The baseless Indian propaganda about Gilgit-Baltistan can neither cover up the atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian security forces against the innocent, unarmed Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Kashmir(IOK), nor can it succeed in diverting the attention," Pakistan said.
On J&K, Pakistan said India's protests were "frivolous", rather it should take steps to "vacate its illegal occupation" and "create conditions for faithful implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions."
"As a responsible member of the international community, Pakistan has always taken steps consistent with UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu & Kashmir dispute," Pakistan said, adding that its aim is to "further empower the people of Gilgit and Baltistan."
