Bangladesh's annual inflation eased in September to its lowest since March 2017, the statistics bureau said on Sunday, as food prices rose at a slower pace.

Consumer prices in September rose 5.43 per cent from a year earlier, slowing from an increase of 5.48 per cent the previous month.

Food prices were 5.42 per cent higher than a year earlier in September, lower than August's 5.97 per cent rise. In contrast, the non-food inflation rate climbed to 5.45 per cent from 4.73 per cent the previous month.
