At least 18 dead and 49 injured in suicide blast in Afghanistan
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far
Aday after 36 people were killed in car blast, a suicide bomber detonated explosives close to governor's compoundleaving 18 people dead in Nangarhar, Afghanistan; news agency AFP reported quoting Nangarhar provincial health director Najibullah Kamawal.
News agency Reuters reported that 30 people have also been injured in the explosion.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
On Saturday a car bomb reportedly killed 36 people. The blast occurred at a gathering of Taliban and Afghan armed forces in the eastern city of Nangarhar.
The responsibility was claimed by the Islamic State.
The explosion took place during the Eid ceasefire between Taliban and the Afghan government which ends on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, Taliban on Sunday has said that they would not extend their three-day ceasefire with Afghan security forces and the fighting would resume.
The comments came a day after Afghan president Ashraf Ghani announced that government truce would be extended.
The Afghanistan government has also said it will continue operations against other insurgent groups, including Daesh, and only Taliban are part of the ceasefire.
