
Several people died including district governor of  Khawaja Omari district, Afghanistan on Thursday after Taliban militant attacked governor's compound and police check posts.
The local media reported seven people killed in the attack while nine other security forces were wounded.
The security checkpoints of Khawja Omari were reportedly attacked early morning around 2 am by Taliban insurgents and was followed with hours of the fierce gunfight.
 
Part of governor's compound was also torched.
Tolo news of Afghanistan reported citing an official statement that after the attack forces called for air support and 27 Talibanis were also killed during the air strikes and clashed. 
The Taliban militants have claimed the responsibility of the attack and claimed that they have captured district headquarters.
However local police have rejected these claims.
