
Senior BJP leader LK Advani may become the next President of India, according to Zee News sources.
Advani's name came after PM Narendra Modi apparently put forward his nameduring a meeting in Somnath in Gujarat on March 8, Zee news reported.
According to Zee News sources, BJP president Amit Shah, Keshubhai Patel and LK Advani himself werepresent in the meeting.
LK Advani was the Home minister during the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government from 1998 to 2004 and was also the Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004 under Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The presidential election will be held in July this year after Modi's big election win in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP would ideally like to see the next president of India from its party, though the presidential electioncould see an open battle between the Opposition and the ruling BJP.
