Khanna was one of India's most popular actors in the 70's and 80's. His many hits included Amar, Akbar, Anthony, Chandni, Qurbaani, Muqaddar ka Sikandar, and Hera Pheri.
He started out playing villiansbut it was only a matter of time before his striking good looks and screen presence bagged him the hero roles.
Khanna acted in more than a 100 films in his lifetime.
He was also a member of parliament (Lok Sabha) from Gurdaspur, Punjab.
