According to reports, Whatsapp is updating its messaging app to play Youtube videos within the app itself.
Currently, for viewing a youtube video, users either use a browser or the Youtube mobile application.
The new version 2.17.40 of WhatsApp is out for iOS.
Whatsapp will test the in-app YouTube playback support as a hidden feature.
According to WABetalnfo, the support for YouTube video playback is currently not available for the public. It will be out for use only after it is examined by the company.
The report in WABetalnfo also mentions that the videoin whatsapp will play in a picture-in-picture mode. It can also be resized by a single drag on the screen or can be played in full size.
