The latest reports that claim India topping the list of Countries using Facebook have been invalidated by company officials.
Some reports stated that India had emerged as the largest platform for facebook users. The reports claimed India shooting ahead of the United States, where the social media originated. It showed Facebook's total "potential audience" of 241 million active Indian users as compared to 240 million American users.
India has a low social media penetration as compared to that of United States. In India, where just 19 per cent of the population used Facebook last month, 73 per cent of US population has facebook connections.
Facebook recently announced an increase in its monthly users when the toll increased to over two billion active users around the world
