HIGHLIGHTS | Paris Olympics 2024 Day 4: Manu-Sarabjot clinch bronze medal, men's Hockey wins

𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗜𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗔! The men's hockey team won their third group game against Ireland thanks to two early goals from Harmanpreet Singh that helped India set the momentum early on.

Bhajan Kaur beat Indonesian athlete Kamal 7-3 to enter the next round, i.e. Round of 32 in women's singles archery at the Games.

India are 2-0 ahead of Ireland ahead of the halfway mark in a crucial men's hockey match at the Games.

Badminton and hockey is up next at Paris 2024 with Chirag Shetty-Satwiksairaj Rankireddy to face another challenge in their group-stage match whereas Indian men's hockey team will face Ireland in an important tie.

Earlier in the day, India table tennis player Manika Batra created history at ongoing Paris Olympic 2024 as she became the first Indian paddler to reach single round of 16. She defeated Indian-origin French player Prithika Pavade 11-9 11-6 11-9 11-7.

Contesting against Oh Ye-jin and Lee Wonho of South Korea, the Indian pair was relentless in their approach and managed a 16-10 score to win. The South Korean pair initially saved a match point but could not repeat the feat when the Indian pair had a 14-10 lead. In the end, India won the bronze medal having been the superior of the two sides. This also meant India now has two medals at the Paris Olympics, both in shooting.

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh clinched a bronze medal in the mixed 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday (July 30) as India added one more medal to its tally. Just 48 hours after winning a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, Manu paired up with Sarabjot Singh to add another medal to her cabinet. The medal is India’s second at the Paris Olympics 2024 and first in a team’s event in shooting at the quadrennial event.
