The Spice Girls Mel B, Emma Bunton, and Geri Horner, now known collectively as GEM, are in talks to launch their own TV show to rival The X Factor UK.

Reportedly, they have been holding discussions with BBC for the programme, which would compete with the ITV talent show, The Voice UK and Gary Barlow's Let It Shine, says Channel24.

However, they are yet to sign a contract.

A source revealed, "It's early days but Mel B, Emma, and Geri are in talks about developing their own show."

The news of the Spice Up Your Life group's plans to tackle the TV talent show market came after 'Take That' frontman Gary Barlow revealed that he will hunt for performers with "charisma, showmanship and stage presence" to be part in a new musical for his show.
