Bodies hanging from trees, homes on fire: The drawings of Rohingya children

The children who've made the drawings are currently living at the Balukhali refugee camp in Bangladesh. Since August 25, some 600,000 Rohingya have fled Myanmar for Bangladesh.

The children's drawings include bodies hanging from trees, homes set on fire, and people being killed by soldiers while a helicopter hovers in the background. The testimony of adult Rohingyas fleeing the 'ethnic cleansing' has been similar.

Myanmar's state of Rakhine, where the Rohingya lived, is now devoid of more than half its Rohingya population. The United Nations recently said that what is going on in Myanmar is a 'textbook case of ethnic cleansing'.

The Rohingya exodus from Myanmar began after a Rohingya insurgent group attacked police pickets on August 25. Since then, the Myanmar Army and security forces have hit back with unprecedented force.
