A day after the NDA won the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha, YSR Congress Party chief has called for a shut down in the state.

YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy said that his party was calling for the state bandh against the injustice done by the BJP government.

The shut down will be observed on July 24.

He further said that the YSR Congress would support any national level party if it backs Andhra Pradesh's demand for a special category.

The NDA's massive victory came after an 11-hour debate, followed by a 90-minute reply by the Prime Minister, during which he listed out the achievements of his government and underlined the failures of the Congress and its allies during their previous terms.

In the voting held after the conclusion of the debate on the no-confidence motion, 325 MPs voted 'no', whereas, 126 lawmakers voted 'ayes'.

"The no-trust vote has, thereby, been defeated," Speaker Sumitra Maharajan announced as she adjourned the House.
