Apart from designating MML as a foreign terrorist organization, seven members of MML central leadership body were declared "foreign terrorists".
After the United States designated Hafiz Saeed's Milli Muslim League(MML) as a terrorist organization, India welcomed the move calling the party "as an alias of Lashkar-e-Taiba(LeT)."
"It vindicates India’s position that Pakistan has not taken effective action against terrorist groups and individuals," the government said in a statement.
Apart from designating MML as a foreign terrorist organization, seven members of MML central leadership body were declared "foreign terrorists".
"It is also cognizance of the fact that terrorist individuals and entities are allowed to change names and continue to operate freely from territory under Pakistan’s control," India's home ministry said, adding,"the designation is a rejection of the attempts being made in Pakistan to mainstream terrorist individuals and entities."
The US also added Tehreek-e-Azadi-e-Kashmir (TAJK) to the list of terrorist groups which is said to be a front of the LeT.
"It highlights Pakistan’s failure to fulfil its international obligation to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries, and disrupt terror financing," India said.
